Truly Classic!!

This is so amazing! I have not watched this in along time! but every time you see it it gives you nothing but chills! these are moments captured in time and those who were there were blessed to be around such women of  strength, grace, wisdom, courage! to have heard the stories of the things they had to overcome and endure and all while keeping their heads high ! somewhere deep don inside they knew of a generation that had yet to be born! that would be able to do the things they saw only in their dreams! to know women of the past who had to endure things not even the human mind could fathom! and to see such a woman as Oprah honoring those that went ahead speaks so much then mere words can say! to know that a woman another African American woman had the honor to do so is so moving and powerful! you can feel the energy and the spirit of those 3 what had to be an amazing moments! filled with love , honor and respect! this will be Timeless! many of these women are  gone now! and what a rare moment it had to be to hear the words of such Love flow from so many before their passing! You don't have to be a woman in these various fields to be honored! that is something we can do with the women in our lives everyday! we may not be able to do it on this grand scale! but it's moving none the less to see someone who could. and end the end if having money is only to heap on to yourself what is that anyway! having money is all about being a blessing! and passing the blessings on. Truly a moment in time!

Speak out!

So many things impact the lives of those in the African American communities Aids, Abuse, Abortion and now Autism! but sometimes we as a people refuse to acknowledge or even speak of things that so impact the lives of many on a daily basis! but what I realize is that you have to bring awareness to these things that plague so many !and the best way to do that is through film! I just want to share this quick clip of a couple who were featured at this year's Megafest event! Duane & Tisha Martin I hope this video will encourage you and helps you to gain more knowledge of the plight of children within our communities!

Also the trailer for the documentary Miss Martin shot along with a few of her friends!

Fellow Crafter

After graduating college from Loyola University New Orleans, Kristen packed up her Volkswagen Jetta and made the 3000 mile trip out west to Los Angeles, California. With no job, no money, no place to stay, Kristen did what most new fashionable arrivals do... she headed to Rodeo Drive. Quickly realizing she needed a job to support her shopping habit, Kristen landed her first job as a fashion publicist.
After a few years playing fashion publicist extraordinaire, Kristen went in search of a job that tapped into her creative juices. She stepped from behind the fashion desk and started working full time as a celebrity stylist. Over the years, Kristen has worked with many celebrities on a variety of projects, but she realized her real passion was styling real size women and showing the fashion industry that beauty is beyond a size 2. Beauty and fashion come in all shapes and sizes and everyone deserves to feel like a supermodel. Kristen was honored to have styled cover of Plus Model Magazine and work with many of the leaders in the plus fashion community.
While making waves in the fashion industry she started a fashion do-it-yourself blog called Glitter 'N Glue in 2010. Kristen merged her two worlds and began a fashion
do-it-yourself blog as a way to create trends without breaking the bank account. She's had the opportunity to work with amazing brands such as Forever 21, Teen Vogue, Seventeen Magazine, Sperry Top-Siders, Lucky Brand Jeans, Rit Dye, Krylon Spray Paintand Sharpie to bring fun and colorful DIY projects to all her readers. Kristen was also featured on E! News dishing out cool celebrity inspired fashion DIY projects to the masses.
Kristen's fashion inspiration comes from both her maternal and paternal grandmothers and her Texas upbringing. She currently lives in Los Angeles in a historical Hollywood building once owned by MGM studios whose rumored inhabitant was Marilyn Monroe.

My Girl Studios Movie Monday

One of my favorite movies! is the movie called Juice which was directed by one of my favorite cinematographers! what's a cinematographer? you may ask:) well here's what they do A cinematographer (usually credited with the title director of photography, or DP) is the chief over the camera and lighting crews working on a film, and responsible for achieving artistic and technical decisions related to the image. The study and practice of this field is referred to as cinematography. Well one of my favorites is Ernest Dickerson I fell in love with his work when I saw that film! the flow of the movie and how it was shot! made me want to know more about him. There's a classic shot! where the character's played by Tupac And Omar Epps meet up at school and Omar Epps aka as Q goes into his locker! and when he shuts the locker door Boom! there's Bishop aka Tupac when I first saw that I was like Omg!!for me that was classic! and then toward the end there the scene where Bishop comes out of the shadows to confront Q and I'm like my goodness! how did he come up with that scene??the film is a coming of age hip hop film that gets the same feel of another classic Cooley High! and not to forget the many faces of Samuel Jackson especially when Bishop & Q come with their stories of what when down! here's a picture of the classic locker shot! Bishop being interrogated! more photos from the movie Juice and how do you forget Steele:)I think everybody had a pair of over walls back in the day! and how do you forget the music! which always plays a huge role in a film! And how can you forget the end of this film! just love Omar Epps eyes on this shot! how he moves and it stops! and all you see are the eyes! the expression alone says it all! I would love to know the back story on how this all came together the cast! everything!
