stay home

Wish I could just stay home and watch the ball drop :( but getting out of my comfort zone i just pray everbody stays safe:))

Just signed up 4 a twitter account after debating on it all year.Just getting used 2 this year and now having 2 say goodbye:(.I can say that this year had it's ups & Downs even lost many along the way.but it has taught me more then I could ever imagine about faith even in the hard times things you hold onto when times get hard.this year showed me how much I truly do love and value my family above it all that i could want or need.As we all look into the new year that awaits us it's my hope and prayer that many grow close to those they love and cherish every moment you have with them.Let the little things not become big things and just live life to the fullest with those you love cause it all just boils down to family:))

My Girls

Every artist creative person knows when you are in the studio creating you need your music blasting like crazy!!! to keep you up on those nights when the creative juices are flowing. This song right here so does that for me.I just want to say thank you to Belinda you so Rock!!! for posting this:))

I asked my son if he felt a little nervous. We were on our way to the high school for his first orientation and were just about to turn onto the campus. He shot me a smile and a sideways glance and said "yep." He pressed his hand to his stomach as if to quell the butterflies.

Oh, how I remember that feeling! Especially when the first day of school meant going to a new campus or, even worse, a whole new school district! And as we watch our children navigate through new territories, or as we start new adventures ourselves...those jitters are all too real.

I've been thinking of those of you who are embarking on a new chapter of life. From young college women, to newlyweds, to brand new moms, to moms who have started a homeschool year to those who sent their off children to school, many of us are experiencing those fluttery feelings all over again. A new job or a new town can really get those tummy butterflies moving!

Whenever I've started something new, I've been tempted to turn right back around and run back to the familiar way things used to be. Those nerves kick in and then the fear of the unknown starts to work its mojo and I feel paralyzed. What if THIS happens, or THAT happens? What if this is a big mistake? Oh no, this is going to be awful.

Today, take a deep breath. Since you're already breathing, this just can't get any easier!

What I mean by "deep breath" is to pause for a few moments to reflect on the marvelous God who has brought you this far. Look back at the journey you've traveled with Him and remember His goodness and faithfulness. Even in the roughest of times, He has never left you or let you down. He has guided you, picked you up when you've fallen and sent you angels in disguise when you've needed them.

He is with you right now.

See, the Lord is writing your story, and no story is complete without some drama. Some moments of "how will this ever turn out?" questions. But He is the Master Author, and knows how to end each chapter so that you just have to keep going to find out what happens next. He purposefully puts twists and turns into the plot so that we'll continue to trust Him and grow in our faith. So that we stay dependent on Him. Is that where you are at right now?

Psalm 32:8 says, I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you and watch over you.

I love knowing that the Lord is watching over me and writing my story. I love knowing that He is watching over my children and writing THEIR stories, too. There is great comfort in that. It means that even when we can't see how this chapter will end, He is guiding us along to an exciting finish.

It will be the best story ever.
Rachel Anne
Take a pause in the action today and focus on trusting the Author and Finisher of your faith. Close out the rushing world for 10 minutes if you can, and remind yourself of His faithful guidance and watchful care. What would you title the current "chapter" of your life?

Word 2 the Wise

'Goodies Have Power, So Use Them Wisely.
Men, who are going out of their way to talk to you, aren't chasing you down because they want to be your friend. What you have can make Adam eat an apple off the tree even though God said don't do it, why would you give it away for free? I'm not talking dollar figures, but he didn't have to take you a date, he didn't have to call you two times a day or do anything? He just showed up. Why? I could be crazy, if you have so much power and control, why give it away? We're setting ourselves up for failure if we don't acknowledge this is what he wants and I have to make him earn it.

2.What is your creative process like

I really dont have a process, things just come to mind, things I wish I saw in stores, things I dont really see anywhere else..

3.How do you come up with your ideas what inspires your pieces

my inspiration is simply out of what I personally like to wear, I like bold and unique things, things that are conversation pieces...

4.What made you want to start this business

I've always had an entreprenurial spirit, it really just progressed naturally, it was not a great big decision for me..I like to do it and I had all the tools I needed right in front of me..

5.Who are your personal style icons and why

growing up I wanted to be like look and dress like Phyllis Hymen, Patrice Rushen, Angela Winbush..real women who were naturally beautiful, they were always fully clothed and sophisticated, they werent little girls!

6.I love that you use african american icons in your pieces what gave you that idea

it's simply whats trendy right now, the style of the 90's is here, I graduated high school in 1990, I remember the Kente cloth, african medallions and other icons of African culture that were popular back then, People were really going back to their roots with fashion and music, Im kinda stuck there really..lol

7.wha's your favorite cd at the moment

well i dont listen to the radio or popular artist that are out now, I never heard a Keri Hilson song or Lady Gaga, I have no interest in hearing that..I collect records and most of my favorite music is from the 70's and 80's, I listen to Bryan Loren, Aquarian Dream, Norman Conners, Hall & oates..ets...I like quality music not popular music, there is a major difference.

8.what's your favorite thing to do

I love to go crate digging and shopping at thrift stores..thats a perfect day for me

what motivates you to stay in business

Being able to be a stay at home Mom is important to me, my son motivates me to work hard, I do this for him.

9.what do you do when you feel like you have hit a creative roadblock/how to you get past it

I dont do anything, I let it pass..I dont stress about that at all..just a reason for me to take a break..lol

10.what's a typical day like for you

I get my son off to school, do some chores, I may watch a movie on my computer and do some networking for a few hours, I work out on my trampoline and afterwards I get my orders ready for shipping, by then its time to cook dinner..my life isnt exciting but I love it!..lol

11.describe your artistic style

I dont like to do that...I let others describe me, I feel like its kind of limiting to describe myself to others, and I dont really know how to describe it..its just what I like basically.

12.what's the most difficult part of your business

I cant name anything about it thats difficult, its so easy to start a business now, everyone has a computer, everyone has a camera, thats basically all you need, you gotta network and get the word out..but nothing about it is hard.

13what's the best part in being in business for you

14.what advice would you give to other wanting to start their own business

Dont wait another day, you dont need a business plan, you dont need a fancy and exspensive website,
I only had ONE item to sell and a blog and paypal, both of which are free! you dont to beg a bank for a loan or rent a store, as a women now is the best time to start a business, there is no reason not to.

15.what do you enjoy most about being an entrepreneur

being able to see my son get on and off that bus everyday! and being here for him as a mother and role model.
